Historical Sites and Historical Societies:
Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society: Preserving the history of Dauphin & Middle Paxton Township, which the S&S ran through in Dauphin County, the society also contains a photograph collection that depicts the area's amazing past. Many of these photographs are highlighted in the society's yearly calendars, available for purchase in their gift shop.
Lebanon County Historical Society: Home to the remnants of the Cold Spring Station and three watercolors of Rausch Gap and Cold Spring painted by Judge William Rank, which can be seen on a tour of the society's Stoy Museum, the society also has a research library containing a wealth of information on Lebanon County's rich history. A book on the Cold Spring Hotel Site was published by the society and is available for purchase in their gift shop.
Pinegrove Historical Society: Dedicated to preserving the history of Pine Grove and Pine Grove Township, the society is home to the original survey map of the Dauphin & Susquehanna Railroad. Books devoted to the High Bridge area, Pine Grove and pictorial histories of both the Lebanon & Tremont Railroad and the Schuylkill & Susquehanna Railroad are available for purchase in their gift shop.
Cornwall Iron Furnace: Ever wonder how the charcoal blast iron furnaces at Outwood, Stanhope and Jefferson operated along the railroad's line? Come for a tour at the Cornwall Iron Furnace in Cornwall, PA, where the visitor can look through exhibits on iron-making at Cornwall and/or take a tour of the only surviving intact charcoal blast furnace in the Western Hemisphere. Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania: Kids and adults discover the history behind railroads in Pennsylvania at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strausburg, PA. Visit there dozens of locomotives and train cars in Rolling Stock Hall or have the kids discover locomotives for themselves in Stewart Junction children's activity center. Reading Company Technical & Historical Society: Dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the Reading Railroad, the society owns and operates the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum located in Hamburg, PA.

Cornwall Railroad (Mark Cain): The Cornwall Railroad (1850 to 1964) was located between Mount Hope and Lebanon, PA. Used to service the industries along its line and the iron ore mines in Cornwall, the railroad also hauled iron ore used at the iron furnaces along the Schuylkill & Susquehanna Railroad.
